PLEASE HELP I dont want to die :(?

Please help, i went to the dr's. for bronchitus..... She put me on augmentin XR tablets. I can't swallow pills very well, and these things are HUGE. I asked my stepmom about it and she said I could break them in half and thats as good as it gets.... But I couldn't swallow it so I chewed it up anyway and now I read your not supposed to do that. What should I do? Please please help! Whats going to happen to me :(
