Does any body have xbox live hooked up with a cisco 678 modem if so how did you set it up?

All you have to do is plug the Ethernet cable from the back of your modem to the back of your 360. That's it. Then test it on the Xbox 360 troubleshooting option on the main screen. Simple and easy.
