Can I trade a car in that I haven't registered yet after it was signed over to me.?

Okay. So my dad gave me this shitty 1993 Mercedes 190E. He signed it over to me, but I haven't registered it yet. I'm wanting to get a 2006 Scion tC, but I son't want to pay the money to register this car. Can I still trade it in?
