Mazda RX-8, Fast, Reliable, Safe, ?

I like the Mazda RX-8 but I would like to know a few things. Is the automatic fast? Is the Manual fast? are they somewhat practical? are they reliable, are they safe, gas mileage, does it take premium, and do you like them I also like the Infiniti G35 but the RX-8 is a little cheaper and im looking at used one .
