What is the best kind of oil to add to a horses feed to help them gain weight? And how much should be fed?

My TB is currently eating 2 large coffee cans of Charger a day, and getting 1/2 bale in the am and 1/2 bale of hay in the pm.. I heard so many different opinions about what kind of oil to use.. can somebody help??
